There are varying views of the Costa del Sol, some people think of the luxury lifestyle of enormous Marbella villas, beachfront apartments in Puerto Banus, sports cars, boats, beach clubs and boutiques. However on the flipside is the idea of it as a budget “bucket and spade” destination from the days when Torremolinos was a package holiday staple.
Happily the Costa del Sol has something for everyone and to suit all budgets and tastes. It’s certainly true that you can live the high life, but you can also have a very reasonably priced holiday and really enjoy it. Although there’s no doubt that prices went up when Spain went into the Euro there are still bargains to be had both in terms of eating out, shopping and accommodation.
