Dance Yourself into the Record Books

sevillanas recordSpain and flamenco go hand in hand and the style of flamenco known as Sevillanas forms a crucial part of any festival in the region of Andalucia. If you love to dance flamenco and want to take part in an exciting event, come on down to Estepona on June 14th and take part in the Guinness World Record attempt for the number of couples dancing the Sevillana at one go. They need more than 1,556 participants to break the record, so everyone is welcome to take part. Click here for more information

We currently have more than 10 Estepona holiday rentals available to allow you to take part in the record attempt on June 14th including town houses, apartments and villas. This luxury beachside apartment in Estepona is very special and has availability for these dates. Sleeping four people, this is a modern apartment furnished to the highest standards right on the beach, with lots of great amenities in the complex including indoor and outdoor pool, spa and gym.

If dancing flamenco seems too much like hard work, there are lots of other things going on in Estepona to mark the opening of the new fair ground on the same day, including a free concert with three popular Spanish singers Tamara, Merche and India Martinez.

Alternatively there are many great places along the Costa del Sol to enjoy watching flamenco. There are lots of places in Malaga, Benalmadena and Marbella including the Ana Maria flamenco show in Old Town Marbella which is well worth a visit. Here’s a list from TripAdvisor on some of the most popular, but this is just the tip of the iceberg, keep your eye out for special events and performances in the local press and try to take in a local feria if you’re visiting over the summer – you will see flamenco on every corner! The next one is June 9th in Marbella, Estepona in the first week in July, Benalmadena in the second week in August, Malaga third week in August and more in autumn. Let’s dance!
