Make a splash this summer – Holiday Villas with Private Pools

Family Outside Relaxing In Swimming PoolOne of the most enjoyable things about a family holiday on the Costa del Sol is hanging out by the pool, soaking up the sun, with kids swimming and playing together and being able to pop inside for an ice cream, delicious lunch, snack or a cold glass of wine. This is a real luxury, but also so convenient, especially for families with young kids that still need a nap during the day. Plus, because you can have a great time at the villa, you can really relax and can actually end up saving money as you’re eating at home.

We have a great selection of villas with private pools available for holiday rental on the Costa del Sol this summer. Please note these villas are always in high demand, so if you are planning on coming this summer (especially during kids’ holidays) we’d recommend you book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Here are three of our top picks:

3 Bed villa with private pool Riviera

This detached villa in the quiet residential area of Riviera del Sol, is just 400 meters away from the beach and also close to supermarkets, bars, restaurants and a tennis club with mini-golf. The location and practical layout with comfortable lounge and dining area, fully equipped kitchen and three good sized double bedrooms offers a great base for a family holiday.  There is a shaded terrace, a sweet garden and of course the all-important pool. Riviera is just 36 km from Malaga airport. Please note that the villa is already fully booked for June and the first week of July, so early booking is recommended.

Holiday Rental Villa Benalmadena

Not only does this 3 bed, 2 bath villa have a lovely private pool, a large garden with terraces, and a courtyard complete with lemon tree, but it also boasts stunning sea views, so it’s great for people who love to live al fresco. The pool area is gated, so perfect for a young family, and it’s a really comfortable home from home. The location of Benalmadena is a great choice for families as there’s loads to do in Benalmadena itself, plus it’s close to the airport and connected by train to Malaga and Fuengirola so you can do without a car. It’s already booked for August and the last week in July, but has availability in June, July and September.

Holiday Rental Villa Estepona

This lovely, modern 4 bedroom villa located between Estepona and San Pedro offers a luxurious and comfortable base for your holiday which you will love to call home! It sleeps 8 people, features a large kitchen, comfortable living room and dining area and modern bathrooms. The outside space is great, with a covered terrace for dining, a lawn area and a large pool, which is a real joy. The complex that the villa is located on has tennis courts, a swimming pool and a children’s play area so the kids certainly won’t get bored. Plus it’s close to Selwo Safari Park, and the lovely town of Estepona.

We have a wide selection of Costa del Sol holiday rentals on our website, including beachside villas, golf villas and luxury holiday homes. Please feel free to browse, or contact us with your requirements and we’ll send you a list of properties to suit you.

Family holidays in Spain just got easier

ryanair_logoThe Costa del Sol has always been a popular destination for families looking for an easy place to enjoy a holiday in the sun. The Spanish love kids and are happy to accommodate them everywhere you go  and the beaches, zoos, playgrounds, parks, water parks and attractions available are sure to keep them busy whatever their age. We have a great guide to things to do in and around Marbella which you can download for free from our sister site, so you can get the kids excited and plan your trip and be ready for lots of fun as soon as you arrive.

We love seeing companies helping out families and catering for their needs, so we were delighted to see Ryanair’s new Family Extra service which includes a range of discounts and an improved service. There are a number of benefits which will really help families financially and practically when travelling – a 50 per cent reduction on allocated seating charges for children, a free 5kg infant bag allowance, discount priority boarding for large families and reduced infant fees of €25 (£20). They also accept car seats on board and have baby changing facilities and bottle warming on board.

Our holiday rental properties are great for families looking for space, privacy and flexibility where you can create a home from home for the kids and enjoy your holiday around nap times, meal times and bed times. We have spacious apartments on one level if you’re concerned about stairs and want communal facilities so the kids can make friends. Alternatively we also have a great range of villas with private pools and gardens which work really well for large family groups wanting to spread out and have a luxurious and relaxing holiday on the Costa del Sol. We can also arrange airport pick-ups, extra housekeeping services and a welcome pack of essential groceries so everything is ready when you arrive. Please just ask.

Foreign Tourist Customer Service in Marbella

The Costa del Sol has become one of the world’s leading holiday destinations, not just for the superb weather and huge choice of activities, but also because tourists feel safe and welcome here. We all go on holiday to relax and have fun so this is a really important factor, especially when traveling with family.

To reinforce the position of Marbella as an international tourist destination, the Mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, and the Secretary of State for Security, Francisco Martínez, signed an agreement for the creation of a Foreign Tourist Customer Service (FTCS).

This means that foreign citizens can use the FTCS to help with a number of security or safety related matters including lost credit cards and documents. The personalised service is primarily in English and is open to foreign tourists and residents alike. This service operates from the existing Tourism offices in Plaza de los Naranjos.

Should an accident/incident occur whilst you are on holiday in Marbella, you can at least have peace of mind that there is someone to help in English and advise you of the procedures to follow. “The fact that a tourist feels safe is a competitive factor for a destination resort”, said Martínez.

This part of Spain is renowned for safety, with many of the urbanizations having 24/7 gated security, video phones and alarm systems so you can just relax and enjoy your holiday! All our holiday homes are safe and secure, just ask us if you would like to know more about a particular urbanization or visit our website to find the perfect holiday apartment or villa in Marbella.

Family holidays on a budget

After all the unpredictable weather in the UK, you may be starting to think ahead to your summer about some time away, but with most of us on a tight budget, a sunshine break away for the whole family can seem like a luxury we can’t really afford. Or can we?

The Costa del Sol has been a favourite holiday destination for years due to the excellent climate and choice of things to do for the whole family. Just a few hours from the UK by plane, it can take less time to get here than it does to drive to many places in the UK and thanks to budget airlines, you can be sunbathing in Spain for as little as €25!

All the time, the airlines that regularly fly between Spain and the UK, are trying to expand to have more seats and cheaper fares available for their customers. This means that there are even more reasons to holiday in Spain!

Now you just need to pick somewhere to stay! If you are on a budget this year, renting a holiday home in Spain for a week or two can work out a lot cheaper than staying a hotel, especially if you are traveling with family. For instance, a 3 bedroom apartment in Fuengirola, (based on 6 people sharing) can work out at less than €100 per person for a whole week’s accommodation! There are loads of stunning areas to choose from depending on what you want from your holiday. Whether you want to be near the beach, somewhere with land for the dog, or somewhere tranquil yet not too far from amenities, you can find it all on the Costa del Sol. Here are some of the more popular tourist areas;

  • Marbella – One of the world’s most prestigious resort towns and a favourite with celebrities. There is plenty to see and do, from relaxing at the fabulous beach clubs on the Golden Mile, to wining and dining in the cobbled streets of the Old Town and enjoying the ‘buzz’ of open-air bars and shops in beautiful Orange Square
  • Fuengirola – One of the top destinations on the Costa del Sol, largely due to its long beach promenade lined with bars and restaurants, busy night life and abundance of things to do. Amongst other things, Fuengirola has a water-park, a Zoo, a shopping centre and plenty of high street stores, cinemas, children’s play areas, a castle and fantastic port!
  • Estepona –Traditional bars, restaurants and shops line the town’s quaint cobbled streets and avenues. Estepona is perfect for families with a smart seafront promenade featuring a large children’s play area. There are more than 20km of beaches, a bustling marina with bars, cafés and restaurants, and a regular street market.
  • Benalmadena – Great place for kids and the whole family with its lovely sandy beaches, award-winning port full of luxury yachts, innovative architecture, lively nightlife, huge variety of restaurants, bars and clubs, plus the nearby Sea-Life aquarium, Selwo Marina, Tivoli World theme park, Butterfly park and a Mountain-top cable car!
  • Elviria – For those seeking the highest quality, modern self-catering accommodation. Just ten minutes from Marbella, it’s a fine forested residential area featuring some of the best beaches and golf courses on the coast.
  • San Pedro – Situated close to Puerto Banús and the Sierra de Ronda mountain range, San Pedro is great for water sports and relaxing walks in the mountains or along the promenade where you will find a variety of beach bars and restaurants. San Pedro is also close to some superb golf courses including Guadalmina, La Quinta and Atalaya Golf.

If you’re on holiday on the Costa del Sol with the family during Halloween its a great time to be here. The weather is cooler but still pleasant, things are generally cheaper and there are loads of fun things to do with the kids.

As Halloween isn’t traditionally celebrated in Spain, you can’t expect to go door knocking in scary outfits in any neighbourhood, however you will find some communities where you can take the kids trick or treating.

Same as the UK, you can find pumpkins in the supermarket so you can have fun with the kids making them into scary lanterns to decorate your holiday home and the Chinese bizarre shops sell all kinds of Halloween costumes, masks, bags, accessories and decorations at low prices.

There are plenty of fun Halloween events on the Costa del Sol suitable for the whole family and children of all ages, even babies are catered for! Many bars and restaurants will also get into the spirit by holding themed nights and staff will get dressed up for the occasion. Here are some of our favourite events happening here for Halloween;

Secret Spanish Pleasures of Malaga, Spain

malaga-ciudadThe Telegraph once published a great article about the secret pleasures of Malaga, Spain. To read the article click here.

The author, Nigel Tisdall highlights the city’s attractions, culture and history, and we wonder why we have never spent much time there before. The majority of Brits who arrive in Malaga will go straight on to another destination without seeing much of the city and what it has to offer.

Malaga is very well-connected with public transport, and an ideal place to go for the whole family. This cultural city is the last part of the South Coast that is still totally Spanish, and although you won’t see very many English, the locals are friendly, and you will find an amazing choice of traditional Spanish pleasures such as food & drink, art, culture, and so much more.

For anyone who would like to explore the welcoming city of Malaga, but would still like to enjoy the beaches, water parks and more relaxed atmosphere while on holiday, we would recommend self catering in places like Torremolinos, Benalmadena, or Fuengirola, then you can visit Malaga when you like. These are all very popular holiday destinations, cheaper accommodation, and easy to get to and from Malaga by train.

Here are a couple of holiday rental properties available in Fuengirola and Benalmadena.

Three Bedroom Apartment in Fuengirola – from €553 per week.

This three bedroom apartment is within a gated complex with a grassed pooled area, and located next to the seafront. Conveniently only a 30 minute drive from the Malaga airport, and close to many shops, restaurants and bars.

Two Bed apartment Benalmadena – from €609 per week.

This apartment has wonderful sea views of the coast and over to North Africa. The spacious south west facing lounge has sea views and opens out onto a sunny terrace equipped with dining for 6. Malaga airport is only 15 minutes drive away. This apartment offers a communal swimming pool and comes with all the main facilities.
